Comfort Food Community is hiring a part-time driver/laborer to support our Fresh Food Collective team and food recovery efforts.
Position Overview
The Part-Time Delivery Person is responsible for local deliveries independently and/or assisting Food Recovery Manager or Food Recovery Assistant. Responsibilities include loading, delivery, and unloading of fresh food from local farms to distribution sites throughout the region.
A successful candidate will be prompt, reliable, a good teammate, someone who takes initiative and someone who enjoys providing excellent customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Prepare, deliver, and pick-up products at various location
Maintain safe operation and clean appearance by complying with company operational policies, procedures, and standards
Maintain clean and safe workspace including operation of vehicle.
Receive materials from suppliers and deliver to proper location
Interface with other team members to ensure timely deliveries, product quality, and customer satisfaction
May assist with inventory control
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Maintain a good driving record
Some distribution supply experience preferred
Excellent communication skills and customer service oriented
Customer focus, dependability, teamwork, coordination, organization, time management, reporting, inventory control, and documentation
Some computer skills preferred
Ability to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision
• Ability to prioritize and organize workflow on a daily basis to accomplish required tasks
Position Details:
Employee Type: Part-time, 20 hrs./wk.
Compensation: $16/hr.
Benefits: Paid Time Off and Paid Holiday
