About the Recipe
A healthier dessert loaf that takes the goodness of apple pie and turns it into bread.
Ingredients
2/3 cup honey or real maple syrup
1/2 cup Greek yogurt can substitute with dairy-free yogurt or coconut cream
2 eggs
2/3 cup apple sauce
1 tsp vanilla
4.5 tbs olive oil
1 3/4 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp salt
2 cup chopped apple
3/4 cup walnuts or pecans
1/4 cup brown sugar
Preparation
Pre-heat oven to 350 and prepare loaf pan by coating with butter, oil, or parchment paper.
Stir together yogurt, eggs, and maple or honey. Add applesauce and olive oil
Whisk flour, baking soda, spices and salt. Add apple and coat fully with flour.
Combine wet and dry ingredients and pour into loaf pan.
Combine brown sugar, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, and nuts. Add 1 tbs of butter or oil and 1 tbs of flour and sprinkle on top of batter. Skip if allergic to nuts
Bake at 350 for 1 hour or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool fully and enjoy!
