About the Recipe

Homemade granola is not only cheaper than store-bought, it’s also less processed and healthier for you.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups rolled oats

  • 1 ½ cups raw nuts and/or seeds of choice

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

  • ½ cup melted coconut oil or olive oil

  • ½ cup maple syrup

  • Optional additional mix-ins: dried fruit, chocolate chips, and/or coconut flakes

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 350F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil

  2. In a bowl combine oats, nuts and/or seeds, salt, and cinnamon and pour in the oil and maple syrup. Mix well, until every oat and nut is lightly coated. Pour the granola onto pan and spread evenly.

  3. Bake until lightly golden, about 20 to 24 minutes, stirring halfway (for extra clumpy granola, press the stirred granola down with your spatula).

  4. Let granola cool completely, undisturbed (at least 45 minutes). Top with any additional mix-ins.

  5. Store at room temp for 1 to 2 weeks or in a sealed bag in freezer for up to 3 months.
